While I have been wrestling with this site and the various other sites I am responsible for I have been revisiting a lot of sites that I used in the past for design and information architecture planning.  I wanted to share a site that is invaluable (especially if you are a consultant.)  The Information Architecture Institute as a site has some of the best resources on the web for planning and architecting a site. No information on wordpress templates however.   Check out the collection on their tools page.  There are resources available from the who’s who in the IA world.   These are great resources for kickstarting your brain when it comes to IA related issues. 

I am in love with the Task Analysis grid which is full of excel goodness and is a great chart to share with a client or other stakeholder during planning. There is also an Illustrator version which can be printed in large format. 

So I turned this blog on last night, but I am still trying to get the CSS, and the pages all sorted.  I am wrestling with this, because I started with a template that I liked; something that was clean and simple. It wasn’t the perfect theme so I have been making changes and now I am in a world of wordpress template pain.   So things to do:

• Edit the description section and move it from column one to column 2.  
• Bring the post title to column 1 on all pages
• Ensure the proper font is always used. Yes that means even on Firefox
• Fix the Column alignment
• Write and add the about content to the about page.

So I will have my hands full when I get home tonight.
