Books getting video trailers…

Johnny Bunko trailer from Daniel Pink on Vimeo.

A video trailer I saw on Tom Peters site for a new book by Daniel Pink.  Question for you, does having trailers or additional content in videos make you more likely to purchase a book?   I read lots of books, but I am not sure that a video would make me want to buy it…  I am really picky about what I read so selection is important.  I take recommendations from friends and colleagues more often then what is advertised or top shelved at Barnes and Noble.

Thoughts?

I like Daniel Pink and I like comic books so I would have read this book anyway.

But to be honest, I hadn’t heard about it until I saw the trailer on your site.

And I only found your site because I followed some tweets to get here.

All that buzz and all those connections to get me interested in a book I might normally not have heard of unless I happened upon it in the bookstore.

    Makes one think.

Fair enough… Yet it feels more like digital word of mouth than I earlier thought.

    hmmm.
